HOW I WORK

I hold a Master's Degree in Education and School Counseling, with 11 enriching years as a school counselor before venturing into private practice.

The transition was influenced by my desire to have flexible hours, especially to support my father during his cancer treatment. It’s also given me the opportunity to offer more personalized attention to my clients.

I predominantly work with children aged 4-14. However, I'm open to understanding and addressing the needs of children outside this range based on unique circumstances.

- Cultural Sensitivity: Respecting and understanding diverse backgrounds and experiences.

- Gender-Affirming & LGBTQIA+ Support: Ensuring an embracing space for LGBTQIA+ children and families.

- Anti-Discrimination: Promoting equity, ensuring every client feels valued.

- Continuous Learning: Regularly updating my knowledge on inclusion, equity, and social justice.

SESSIONS & TREATMENTS

Sensory processing revolves around how children interpret sensory information. While many turn to Occupational Therapy, my specialty lies in comprehending and guiding children (and their parents) in navigating their sensory experiences, ensuring they interact optimally with their environment.

Certainly! My approach emphasizes:

- Respect: Using correct names and pronouns aligned with a child's gender identity.

- Empowerment: Offering resources and guidance for families and children navigating gender identity challenges.

- Teamwork: Collaborating with families and professionals for a holistic support system.

- Privacy: Prioritizing confidentiality in all gender identity discussions.

Our initial 20-minute session, which is complimentary, allows us to establish rapport, understand your reasons for seeking therapy, and outline therapy objectives. If we decide to proceed, sessions typically last 50 minutes.

There may be moments when I recommend parents allow their children to interact with me directly to foster trust.

The initial 20-minute consultation is provided free of charge. For 50-minute therapy sessions, the fee is $170 per session. Please note that I am currently only accepting private pay clients, and I do not work with insurance providers at this time.

While I can provide a Superbill for you to turn into your insurance company for reimbursement, I can not guarantee that they will accept it.

This payment structure allows me to focus on providing the highest quality of care and individualized attention to each client.
